Welcome

A Welcome Message from Alison Cornell

Welcome to Durrington Middle School.

I hope this is one of many communications we may have in the coming years whilst your child is in our care.

We have designed this website to answer some of the questions you may have about our school, its aims and values and its organisation. However, I do wish to assure you that we will provide you with many more opportunities to get to know the school in the coming months and years in a variety of ways.

Education is a partnership between home and school which can support your child in so many ways and we, at Durrington Middle School, wish to do all we can to strengthen that partnership.

Our doors are always open and we invite you into our school to help, to talk and to celebrate your child's achievements. We will do our best to help you and your child feel welcome when you step through those doors.

Our Vision for
Durrington Middle School

Learning is a life long process concerned with doing and understanding as well as acquiring knowledge.

Children learn best when they are secure, happy and confident and when they are valued and respected as individuals.

At Durrington Middle School we aim to ensure successful learning for each child in all areas of a well-planned, well-structured curriculum and to provide a peaceful, caring atmosphere in which to learn and grow.

We encourage co-operation, mutual respect and the development of positive attitudes and values towards one another and the wider world.

We have a high regard for the personal and social education of each child and provide opportunities for the development of self-esteem and independence.
